To determine if your Vizio Smart TV is compatible with the Crunchyroll app, you should:

  1. Use your Vizio remote to press the Menu button.
  2. Navigate to System and select Check for Updates to ensure your TV's firmware is current.

Compatibility is determined by the model and the firmware version of your TV.

Generally, Vizio Smart TVs that support SmartCast or have the ability to access the Vizio Internet Apps (VIA) platform can run the Crunchyroll application. However, models manufactured before 2017 may not be compatible with the application.

Crunchyroll Application Availability

Crunchyroll can be installed directly from the Vizio app store on Smart TVs that support the feature. To access Crunchyroll, follow these steps:

  • Power on your Vizio Smart TV.
  • Press the V button on your remote.
  • Navigate to the app store, often labeled as App Store or V Apps.
  • Search for "Crunchyroll" using the search function.
  • Select the app and install it.

For Vizio Smart TVs that do not support direct application installation, you can use alternative methods such as casting from a mobile device that has the Crunchyroll app installed.

Installing Crunchyroll on Vizio Smart TV

To get Crunchyroll on your Vizio Smart TV, you can either navigate through the built-in Vizio Internet Apps (VIA) platform or use the Vizio SmartCast mobile app for installation.

Navigating Through Vizio Internet Apps (VIA)

To install Crunchyroll using the Vizio Internet Apps (VIA) platform:

  1. Press the V button on your Vizio remote to access the VIA platform.
  2. Use the arrow keys to navigate to the Connected TV Store.
  3. Select All Apps.
  4. Look for Crunchyroll in the list of applications. You may navigate alphabetically or use the search bar.
  5. Highlight the Crunchyroll app and press OK to view the app's overview page.
  6. Select Install App to add Crunchyroll to your Vizio Smart TV.

After installation, return to your VIA home screen where you should see the Crunchyroll app available for use.

Utilizing Vizio SmartCast for Installation

If your Vizio TV supports SmartCast, you can cast Crunchyroll content from your mobile device:

  1. Connect your mobile device and Vizio Smart TV to the same Wi-Fi network.
  2. Install the Crunchyroll app on your mobile device from the App Store (for iOS devices) or Google Play Store (for Android devices).
  3. Open the Crunchyroll app and begin playing the content you want to watch.
  4. Tap the Cast icon, represented by a rectangle with a Wi-Fi signal in the lower left corner.
  5. Select your Vizio Smart TV from the list of available devices to start streaming on the larger screen.

The content will now be displayed on your Vizio Smart TV, and you can control playback directly from your mobile device.

Troubleshooting Installation Issues

When you encounter issues installing the Crunchyroll application on your Vizio TV, here are some steps you can take to resolve the problems:

Check Internet Connection:

Ensure that your Vizio Smart TV is connected to the internet. A stable connection is vital for downloading and running streaming services.

  • Navigate to the Network Settings and verify that your TV is connected to your home network.

Update Your TV’s Firmware:

An outdated system can cause compatibility issues.

  • Access the Settings menu.
  • Select System and then Check for Updates.

Restart the TV:

A simple restart can clear temporary glitches.

  • Unplug the TV from the power source.
  • Wait for about a minute and then plug it back in.

Re-install the Crunchyroll App:

  1. Locate the app on your TV’s home screen.
  2. Highlight the Crunchyroll app and delete it.
  3. Go to the Vizio App Store and re-download the app.

Factory Reset (Last Resort):

If all else fails, consider resetting the TV to factory settings. Be aware that this will erase all data and settings.

  • Under the System option in settings, select Reset & Admin and then choose Reset TV to Factory Defaults.

If problems persist, contact Vizio customer support for assistance or refer to the Vizio user manual for more detailed instructions.
